In short

In winter, allow extra time, clear the access routes of snow, protect floors and cold-sensitive items, and keep a backup date in case of a storm.

Getting access ready

  • Shovel the snow and spread grit on the steps, the entrance and the space set aside for the truck.
  • Put mats or cardboard on the floors to protect them from water and salt.
  • Check your municipality's winter parking rules.

Protecting cold-sensitive items

  • Electronics: let them return to room temperature before plugging them back in.
  • Plants, liquids and anything that freezes: carry them in your car if possible.
  • Instruments and solid-wood furniture: wrap them well against temperature swings.

Keeping a realistic schedule

Days are short and the weather can force a postponement. Talk in advance about what happens in case of a storm, and keep a backup date in mind.

General preparation guide; it does not replace your municipality's rules or the terms of your contract.
